THE NESAVAALI STORY

Nesavaali is all about the unique aesthetic in the lifestyle of an urban woman. The designs are both modern and refined creating a staple statement. The brand, which means ‘The Weaver’ in Tamil, is the brainchild of London based designer and entrepreneur Shangami S. Muthumani and fuses the vibrancy and beauty of traditional Indian fabrics hand-loomed by highly skilled artisans all across India with Western fashion trends. We are intricate, rich, bold, fresh and stand true to be an “innovative fusion characteristic fashion brand” like no other.

Our Mission

Nesavaali’s mission is to impact the livelihood of the skilled craftsmen & textile workers who are involved in every stage of making a fabric & it’s finished garments.

Our Vision

Nesavaali’s aim is to offer an affordable alternative to fast fashion with its ethically made collections that promote fair trade and waste reduction. We use recycled or up cycled materials. This limits the environmental impact of production, reduced landfill waste and inspires creativity.

Giving Back

Nesavaali is a brand like no other, it’s as much a social enterprise as innovative fashion label, and in addition to paying its workers a fair, regular wage, 10% of the retail value & 5% of the wholesale value go back directly to communities to support their welfare and development.

Our Ethos

Committed to creating designs that never go out of style so customers can avoid fast fashion. We believe in fair living wages with safe working conditions, help preserve traditional weaving techniques, freedom of labour, and a child-free workforce are our ways to commit to a sustainable fashion.
Zero Wastage

Zero Wastage

The disregarded fabrics from our production waste are not sent into landfill, but are carefully collected for upcycling instead. Nesavaali aims to solve a social phenomenon that is common in rural areas: poverty and low-income by creating employment opportunities and skills training rural women.
