If not for the artisans, the label does not have a purpose, a soul.The whole idea of Nesavaali is based on the people who are making the gorgeous fabrics and turning them into such beautiful pieces of garments. We genuinely think it’s so important to respect, support and give back to the community to instil their trust and take their craft root arts to a global platform.Most of us today don’t realise the effort that goes into making that one beautiful piece of clothing. Nesavaali’s mission is to demonstrate this, but more than that, to really impact on the livelihoods of the skilled craftsmen who are involved in every stage of the process.

Reducing waste is also a key focus for Nesaavali, the disregarded fabrics from our production waste are not sent into landfill, but are carefully collected for upcycling into fashion accessories offering the opportunity of employment for rural women artisans.

Nesavaali is a brand like no other, it’s as much a social enterprise as innovative fashion label, and in addition to paying its workers a fair, regular wage, 10% of the retail value & 5% of the wholesale value go back directly to communities to support their welfare and development.

The average education of our artisans is about sixth grade. Our artisan development programs provide supplementary training in employable trade skills as well as life skills. Learn more
